Hello and welcome to CricsTop coverage of Day Five of the second Test between Pakistan and West Indies at Bridgetown, Barbados.
The match will start at 10:00 (local) 14:00 (GMT) and 19:00 on (Pakistan Standard Time).
Pakistan resumed Day Three trailing by 140 runs and earned a vital 93-run lead. Azhar Ali notched up his 12th hundred whereas Misbah-ul-Haq once again remained unlucky at 99.
He was not out for that score in the previous Test as he ran out of partners, but this time got dismissed by Jason Holder.
West Indies have won the toss and have opted to bat
West Indies lost one wicket going into stumps and will have to bat well as they are still trailing by 41 runs. Kraigg Brathwaite will hold fort in the penultimate day against Pakistani pacers.
Day Three started slowly with Azhar-Misbah taking time to settle in. Azhar got to his hundred and departed soon, but Misbah held the innings for long.
He was involved in a 57-run stand with Asad Shafiq but the lower order could not carry on for long.
Misbah, falling for 99, became the first batsman to score consecutive 99s in the longer format and register three 99s in career.
Misbah ul Haq: It certainly looks like a bat first wicket but the toss isn’t in anyone’s control. After our batting performance in Australia, the batting in the last game was a huge confidence booster. But our batsmen need to carry on from there and score big. Shadab Khan is in for Wahab Riaz. There is no grass in the wicket and looks very dry. The heat at the moment is sure to aid turn.
Jason Holder: We are going to bat first. We’ve spoken about a few things in the dressing room – we need to put up runs in the first innings. We are pretty good, obviously the series is still alive and we have to go good. The players have to play to their skill levels. We are unchanged.
However, Pakistan’s first aim in the morning session will be to break the Chase-Holder partnership as early as possible.
