Ireland Tri-Nation ODI Series 2017 Schedule & Fixtures

Ireland Tri-Nation Series 2017
Ireland Tri-Nation Series 2017 is an upcoming ODI cricket tournament scheduled to be held in Ireland From 12th May 2017 and will end on 24th May 2017.

Ireland are all set to host an important series at home as Bangladesh and New Zealand visit the country for a tri-nation series just before ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

The series will start from May 12 and the final will be played on May 24. Each team will play their other two opponents twice in the series and the teams with highest points will qualify for the final.

The venues for the series are The Clontarf Cricket Club Ground and The Village. The One-Day International (ODI) series will start with the first match between Ireland and Bangladesh while the hosts will again play on May 14 against New Zealand, which will be the latter’s first match.

While Ireland will not take part in ICC Champions Trophy 2017, the series comes as a great opportunity to practice for the other two teams before the mega series in June.

This series will be historic for Ireland, who will host New Zealand for the first time. The two teams will play an ODI after a long span of nine years.

Earlier, the two teams have played only two ODIs between them, both of which went in favour of New Zealand.

This series will come as an opportunity for Ireland to show the mettle of the team’s players and earn a higher rank in the ICC points table.

Prior to the tournament, Bangladesh’s captain Mashrafe Mortaza was suspended for one match for maintaining a slow over-rate in the third ODI between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in April 2017. Shakib Al Hasan will captain Bangladesh for the first match.
